Founded in 2017, Brambleberry Boykins was built from a genuine respect for the Boykin Spaniel and the kind of dogs we grew up admiring. What began as a small, hands-on hobby has stayed that way by design. We prefer to focus on quality over quantity and put our time into raising healthy, well-structured field-bred Boykins that can handle real work in the field while still being steady, loyal companions at home.
Our goal has always been simple. Produce dogs that honor the breed’s roots: intelligent workers with good noses, solid temperament, natural drive, and the kind of disposition families can trust. The hunting instinct should be there, the heart should be there, and the soundness should be there. We’re committed to all three.
As a Preferred Breeder with the Boykin Spaniel Society®, we keep our program small, typically one or two litters each year. That allows us to be selective with our pairings and stay focused on health, temperament, and maintaining the traits that made this little brown dog such a capable partner in the first place. Every breeding is intentional. Every pup is raised with care and clarity of purpose.
At Brambleberry Boykins, we don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We stay true to the breed standard, respect its history, and work hard to produce dogs that live up to it.

Brambleberry Boykins is owned and operated by the Smith family. We have been breeding Boykin Spaniels for over 20 years and have a deep love and respect for the breed.
Our dogs are not just breeding stock, they are members of our family. We are committed to providing the best possible care for our dogs and the puppies we bring into the world.
At Brambleberry Boykins, we believe in responsible breeding practices that prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs. We carefully select parent dogs based on their temperament, health, and hunting ability to produce puppies that are sound in body and mind. We also prioritize socialization and early training to ensure our puppies are well-adjusted and ready for their new homes.
As Breeder Program Members of the Boykin Spaniel Society, we hold ourselves to a clear standard. Any dog we consider for breeding must be in excellent health, and we do not pair two dogs unless both have been fully screened for heritable conditions that could be passed on to their puppies.
This isn’t just a requirement for us, it’s the groundwork for producing healthy, dependable Boykins that stay true to the breed and thrive in the homes they join.
